Finding Our Way Home: A Brief Note on the Authority and Interpretation of Scripture

Year AYear B
Dietrich Bonhoeffer: A Brief Life by Renate Bethge (Minneapolis: Fortress, 2004), 87 pages.

Christmas with Dietrich Bonhoeffer, edited by Weber, Barnett and Floyd (Minneapolis: Augsburg, 2004) 34 pages.

Renate Bethge, the niece of Dietrich Bonhoeffer and wife of Eberhard Bethge gives us yet another brief life of Bonhoeffer, interspersed with quotes and pictures. An excellent introduction for high school or college students and a text that could well be used by a Sunday School class studying Bonhoeffer’s writings.

The Christmas book contains brief quotes by Bonhoeffer and some wonderful seasonal photography; leave this book in a guest bedroom or your living room, it will be appreciated by guests to your home. Both books would make fine birthday or holiday presents and easy reading for those whom we might wish to introduce to Bonhoeffer.
